It’s been a year since Camp Mighty. I remember the nerves and anticipation when I flew to LA to meet Lindz and NotPlath, two total strangers who agreed to bunk in the same hotel room for the weekend with me. I remember being bowled over by the love and support from my friends and family when I had to raise $200.00 for CharityWater as part of my attendance. I remember thinking I had no business going to Camp Mighty because I wasn’t Maggie or The Bloggess or the founder of Pinterest. I was just a teeny anonymous blogger who wanted to live a little more, be a little braver and dig a little deeper into the scary.
So I went. And it was wonderful. I made friends there that are my kind of people. I learned so, so much about having a presence on social media, which pushed me to up my game.
The Bloggess herself instructed me to be fearless, to take risks and not be afraid of doing something stupid.
I took in the loveliness that was the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs.
The universe nudged me to be present.
And I was reminded that I still have much to do.
Reading everyone’s recent recaps of their Camp Mighty 2013 experiences has been enjoyable, though I am content with not having gone this year. After all, I’ve spent the last twelve months carpe’ing ALL of the diem.
