Favorite Things: Peach’s Picks

Life has been a whirlwind since I returned from my trip to NJ! It was so great to see my love and I miss him terribly already. But, we’ll see each other again as soon as possible and I’m staying super busy to pass the time.  As such, I thought it would be fun to post about some of my newest, most favoritest, bestest things evar in my life lately. <– I promise I have college degrees. And I’m not sixteen. Hush.

The Southern Blog Society hosted their quarterly meetup at Bevello in Atlanta and I was so excited to attend! I’m a very new member of the SBS, but I wasn’t alone in that. There were new members, veteran bloggers and newbie bloggers alike, but everyone was very friendly. It was a lovely evening of mingling, tasty cocktails and meeting local bloggers in person! Bevello, a super cute boutique next to Lululemon at Lenox Square Mall, was kind enough to host and offer us a discount that evening. So of course, I had to pick up these gorgeous gold and mint green bangles and a fabulous brushed gold ring.

Here’s what I wore for the event. I must admit, I was nervous about being under or over-dressed for my first blogger meetup. I’m certainly not a fashion blogger but wanted to strike a good balance of casual but put-together.  Eeek!

Something my friend Might-E does when she travels is to forego the standard cheesy souvenirs and instead purchases small things she will wear or use often. A little something to remind her of the trip when she looks at it. Taking a page from her book, I bought this owl bracelet when I visited my guy. I found it at Express and wear it constantly now, because it reminds me of our time together. Plus the lil hoo-guy is so cute it makes me smile. :)

Who? Hoo.

YOU GUYS. A friend of mine made and brought these Cake Pop Truffles to my CrossFit Games viewing party and I … I just can’t even handle how good they are. When I posted this picture on Instagram, there were multiple requests for the recipe within minutes. Sooo, I’m going to do you one better and have my friend write a  guest post with the recipe soon!  I know you’ll love her as much as you’ll love these naughty, naughty bites of goodness.

That same day, my friend Bertie introduced me to this seasonal beer. I think it’s obvious why she brought it over, don’t you? :)  Love her!  Highly recommend the beer, too. It’s just enough of a hint of peach without slapping you upside the face with it. Yum!

My recent trip to Sephora may have ended on a bad note, but as usual, my findings in this luxury beauty mecca were right on the money. These are two of my favorite things in Sephora: Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in “Dolly” and Christian Dior’s DiorShow mascara. If I wear no other makeup out of the house, I can slap on a coat of DiorShow and Buxom gloss and boom – I no longer look like a pasty corpse. Only kinda. If you’ve not tried these two awesome products, do it!  NOTE: Ashley of Witty & Pretty and I had a tweet session debating DiorShow vs. Urban Decay’s Lush Lash. Peach’s verdict is out until I try Urban Decay. More shopping? DARN. 😉

If you didn’t already know, I have a thing for perfume. My scent collection is somewhere above 10 and below 20 different ones at the moment. I need another yummy smell like I need a hole in my head, but I fell in absolute love with SeebyChloe. It was one of the samples from Sephora and now I’m obsessed with it. It smells unbelievable. I NEED THIS.

Saving the best for last… I met one of my favorite bloggers in person! Kirsten of I Still Hate Pickles, aka Kikimojo, swung through my neck of the woods and we managed a quick meetup. It’s always interesting to get to know someone through their words over the internet and then meet them in real life. But I wasn’t worried about meeting Kiki because duh, she despises pickles as much as I do AND she’s a badass roller derby chick AND our bonding through Instagram banter tells me she’s my people. I was right. She is. And her baby girl? Precious. Cheers to you Kirsten, and thanks for taking the time to buzz my tower. 😉

  1. A few months ago, I went to Sephora, determined to purchase DiorShow, and the gals there talked me out of it. They suggested Benefit’s “They’re Real” so I caved and bought it. It’s just…ok. You’ve convinced me to go back for DiorShow. New mission for the weekend! :-)

    • And what a lovely mission! BTW, I’m loving your pics counting down to your wedding. So exciting to see your happiness. :)

  2. A trip to Sephora is definitely in order now…I’ve been looking for an amazing mascara like forever, and everything I’ve tried has been a sad disappointment.

    • Mascara is key! Especially with my white-blond lashes. Without? DUDE. I’m scary. Let me know how you like it!

  3. Pasty corpse. Ha – I love that. Do they have anything for zombie at Sephora? I’ve never actually been in one. I bought this new eyeliner that I hate because it smears under my contact lens (please don’t ask me how) and I accidentally bought brown mascara last time I got some. Brown, oh the humanity!

    • They have EVERYTHING at Sephora. It’s zombie-friendly.
