I don’t believe I have that many male readers out there, but if you have a penis and you’re squeamish about woman stuff, go away now.  Just sayin’.

I think I broke my plumbing.  As in, my lady plumbing.

Now, y’all know I’ve been going balls-out with PPC since April.  For my new readers, PPC is Project Peach Cadet.  In short, I have taken a break from dating drama to focus on being the best version of ME.  Quit smoking. Work out. Eat better. Drink less. Be happy. Take care of me.

But… umm…. you see…. my period stopped.

That would require having sex.  And… just….

yeah.

And with that disclaimer out of the way…  I called my LadyDr.’s office and relayed the relevant info to a nurse, who then relayed to the doctor.  LadyDr. wants me to come in for blood work to “check my hormone levels”.

Hmmm.  I am trying not to worry too much.  I know I’ve shocked my system, HARD.  I went from being completely inactive and unhealthy to ZOOM OMG MUST RUNLIFTTRAINYOGACROSSFIT EATPALEOZONECLEANVEGANVEGGIE EVERY DAY. For the last two months.  And yep, that’s about how long it’s been since I last had a “visitor”.

I went searching for answers online, quickly poo-pooing the ohmygawdIamdying diagnoses and focused instead on articles re: female athletes and their cycles.  Here’s a quote:

“Another possible cause of missed periods is excessive exercise. Anywhere from 5% to 25% of female athletes work out so hard that they stop getting their periods. Called exercise-induced amenorrhea, this phenomenon is particularly common among ballet dancers and runners. Intense exercise affects the production and regulation of reproductive hormones involved in the menstrual cycle. For similar reasons, women who have eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa can also stop getting their period. Severely restricting the amount of calories you eat suppresses the release of hormones your body needs for ovulation.” (Source)

My appointment is on Monday.  Until then, I’m sticking with the theory that I’ve stopped having a cycle due to tons of exercise and possibly not getting enough calories. (Which seems unfair because I’m eating A LOT.)

I’m sure as shit not complaining about the hibernation. It’s just concerning in that this is very abnormal behavior for my body and I want to be sure I’m okay.   But now that I’ve appropriately freaked myself out…

… I bet you fifty bucks I’ll get my period on Sunday.
